the start of something new...in more ways than one

    *new year
    *new experiences (21! )
    *new president
    *new school

Anywho, I was watching 90210 a couple days ago and one of the characters, Adrianna, was pregnant. Being 16 years old, she didn't want to have the baby and decides to go to the women's center. She was gonna have her baby aborted but unfortunately for her, she's too far along and she can no longer have an abortion. When I saw that she would have to keep the baby, I was so relieved. Abortion is a subject that I'm just very touchy on, even more so now after participating in the 40 Days For Life. But then, I realized that with the new president, that can all change. One of the things Obama promised as president is to sign the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA), which will totally change everything. With FOCA, it overides any state laws that require parents involvement and will do away with partial abortions. Kids can seriously have abortions without their parents knowing they've had one. And with the partial abortions, OMG. I just read up on the procedure and its was very, um...graphic. These are REAL babies! With legs and arms and fingernails and a beating heart! And having them aborted is not murder? Seriously? Are you kidding me?! "A person's a person, no matter how small." - Dr. Seuss. It's just not right. From conception to birth, that baby is a developing human. How can someone just get rid of them like that? Other than that, FOCA would require faith-based hospitals and healthcare facilities to conduct abortions. Again, WHAT?! As a studying nurse, I would love to be able to work at a hospital that would support my beliefs. And, isn't this against the freedom of religion? If this act comes into effect, it totally violates the first amendment. Faith-based health institutions shouldn't be forced to performs abortions. They should be free to practice their religious beliefs as guaranteed.

March for Life was today (or yesterday, really) in Washington, DC and I hope the president took notice of that.

    rejoice!

"REJOICE! Sing joyfully His name! Father, Son, and Spirit, Your love will always be the same."

HOLD conference was held in Chicago this year and it was a blast! Those handmaids sure knows how to party! HAHA. It was such an awesome experience to be part of the production team and to be able to bond with everyone from out of state. For those that know me, I tend to stay within my comfort zone and not venture out of it. But, this past year, as I went to REVIVE in houston, to the conference in seattle, to being able to work with out of state youths for the HOLD conference, was such a blessing.  It was completely unlike me to meet new people and stay in contact with them...but yet, i did. From me and Jules teaching the Governance Team, to our saturday afternoon COM team (gummy bears!), to an awesome stage left manager/runner (Kate), to Traci with her video skills & Kelly's powerpoint skills, to the awkward off the record sessions with Anton, Wendell, and Chico, it was all soooo soooo fun! I loved every single minute I spent with them. We spent our nights practically always eating out that I'm sure I've gained from. HAHA. I treasure the family setting that weve created especially at our chill day at the Pingoys. Words cannot describe how happy that day made me and how I wont ever forget it. 12 Disciples, yo. One of the things that I've learned these past conferences are the importance of family and most especially of life. That these issues cannot be ignored and as catholics, it is our duty to move and make a difference.

This video was shown during the HOLD Conference and it is important that others know about it too.

    GOSSIP GIRL

Season 2 is a MUST watch season. The premiere was intense and full of many surprises! Drama and secrets that started in the Hamptons, follows the gang as they return to school in the Upper East Side. The love/hate relationship between Chuck and Blair and Lord Marcus is thrilling while Dan and Serena tries to fix their broken relationship.  Nate's in a tough spot that forces Vanessa to let him go. Little Jenny impressed Miss Eleanor Waldorf and Daddy Rufus is dating again.  And to think it's only been 3 episodes! Tune in for to GG on Mondays, 8/7c on CW.

    ONE TREE HILL

I've always liked OTH. However, I find this season less exciting. For me, at least. Maybe it's because of all the Leyton fluff. It's all too cheesy. I mean, I get that they're happy but i don't know, it bugs me. Seriously, jumping up and down the bed? What are you, five? I'm happy that they're happy (even though I would much prefer him with Brooke, oh well) but they're acting so off character.  Hopefully they return back to their "normal" selves within the next few episodes. Too much fluff is annoying.  Brooke is...not so good. I hate how she's hurting and felt like she can't come to her friends because she doesn't wanna burst their happy bubble. Deb and Skillz crack me up and Jaime is just adorable as always. The nanny is still psycho, though and oh, Q.  OTH, Mondays, after GG.

    90210

Apparently, drama is back at West Beverly.  Though I've never seen the original (mind you, I grew up in the Philippines and was deprived of the show), everything still somewhat makes sense to me.  Yes, there are a few missing pieces that'd I'd like to have known, like, "who's Dillan?" but I'm sure those are questions that'd be answered as the season goes on. Annie is adorable but Silver's my fave. Her "trying not to fit in attitude" draws me to her character and her flirtations with Dixon (Annie's brother) is just plain hilarious. Check it out on the CW, Tuesdays at 8/7c.

    ...um, yeah. night.

    CONFERENCE WAS AMAZING!

THE talks and the workshops were all so good!! But my favorite of all of was "Building Our Foundation" which basically goes into details of the Catholic Faith. Amazing. And the other workshops were good too, of course, except this was just my personal favorite.

NOT all much I can say about the conference, really. It's one of those where you just had to be there yourself. However, lucky you. There's a live webcast found on the cfcyouth-ffl website. And even though it was live, it's still different than actually being there. IDK.

I WISHED I could've stayed in Seattle a bit longer. You know, to tour around and stuff. DUDE, it's like seafood central. HAHA. I so badly wanted to go to Crab Pot (?) It's the place where me and my parents went to when we were there for the CFC Conf back in `03. Goodness, the food was amazing. It had me drooling. But anyways, boo cuz I had school and couldn't come earlier or stay later. Eh, maybe next time.

OH! Northcentral won T-Shirt Design. WOOO!!

    AND, our conference next year is gonna be in..........C H I C A G O !!!

    HEHE, I'm already excited!

erm, idk why im still awake at this time...i think the monster that i had earlier in the afternoon just kicked in. haha.

    no need to say goodbye

awesome movie that comes with an awesome soundtrack...well, just one song really, as i haven't heard the other ones except for this song.

    The Call - Regina Spektor
    http://youtube.com/watch?v=8sslu8bDJNQ

It started out as a feeling
Which then grew into a hope
Which then turned into a quiet thought
Which then turned into a quiet word

And then that word grew louder and louder
’Til it was a battle cry
    I’ll come back
    When you call me
    No need to say goodbye

    Just because everything’s changing
Doesn’t mean it’s never been this way before
All you can do is try to know who your friends are
As you head off to the war

Pick a star on the dark horizon
    And follow the light
You’ll come back when it’s over
    No need to say goodbye

You’ll come back when it’s over
    No need to say goodbye

Now we’re back to the beginning
It’s just a feeling and no one knows yet
But just because they can’t feel it too
Doesn’t mean that you have to forget

Let your memories grow stronger and stronger
    ’Til they’re before your eyes
    You’ll come back
    When they call you
    No need to say goodbye

    You’ll come back
    When they call you
    No need to say goodbye

it made me think of things because the words really did hit home.
